Find Common Sense Media at ISTE 2014

ISTE is just around the corner, and the excitement is starting to build. The conference provides a time of professional renewal and connection. We can't wait to catch up with educators who've been using our resources and to introduce others to what we offer. We've created a collection of activities and workshops designed to engage, inspire, and inform.

This year, Common Sense Media is in booth #1526 and in conference room B311.

You'll also find members of our team judging the ISTE 2014 Start-Up Pavilion Pitch Fest, and still others presenting in partner booths and serving on panels.

Common Sense Spotlight

LeVar Burton
Inspiring Learning with Technology & Storytelling

Sunday, June 29 at 4:30 p.m. | Conference Room B311 at the GWCC

We are honored to have LeVar Burton, host of the multi-Emmy- and Peabody-winning Reading Rainbow, deliver the Common Sense Spotlight to an intimate group of 200 educators. Reading Rainbow remains one of the most watched and beloved children’s TV series in PBS history, and with the launch in 2012 of the award-winning, tablet-based children’s reading service, Burton has brought this iconic early-literacy experience to a whole new generation of digital youngsters. Here, he will discuss the power of storytelling and technology to address literacy challenges and encourage lifelong learning.

LeVar Burton has been widely recognized for his lifelong advocacy of children’s literacy and, in 2013, was the recipient of Common Sense Media’s Children’s Media Award. The Reading Rainbow app is an On For Learning Award winner as well.

Only ticketholders will be admitted to this event. Tickets are free, but you must win one. There will be lots of opportunities to win tickets at the conference, so stop by the booth on Sunday before 1 p.m. to enter there -- or enter to win one of five pairs of tickets by completing this form!
